As far as I am concerned, everyone female over 16 should read this book to help with their relationships, especially personal relationship with God. I am using it to teach women in a Bible Study setting and it is enjoyed greatly by all ages.

Elsa Kok (Colopy) has written another great bible study full of great advice, easy to use checklists, and heartfelt stories to encourage, coach, and mentor single women in their journey for that someone special. Elsa reminds us that we are not alone with a loving God always at our side, therefore, we need not rush into an unhealthy relationship. Her book not only gives advice like so many others, but also provides ways to measure both parties in the relationship and the relationship itself. It is a very hands on book that gives you something to work with not just lofty theory one can't figure out how to apply. I recommend this book to anyone looking for Mr. Right, especially if your life has been filled with Mr. Wrongs previously.

Great reminder that we women sometimes use our tricky emotions to make decisions rather than weighing logic and wisdom. Elsa is bold in her encouragement, sharing her own experiences in a vulnerable way that I admire.

I've heard it said that smart people learn from their mistakes, but truly wise people learn from other people's mistakes. I haven't been exactly wise in my choices of mates in the past, through God's word, and time, I've learned to slow down and wait and trust in God's perfect will. Settling for Less Then God's Best was a great tool to learn applicable, relational tools to help in that process. I've led a group of 20 women through it, and I give it to any single woman I know. Elsa's writing style is engaging and thought provoking. I highly recommend this book, or any book written by Elsa Kok.

The information contained in this book literally transformed the way I think about relationships and dating. What I learned here helped me realize that when I date with a "God perspective" it is much easier to rule out those who I would typically "settle" for and showed me the benefits of waiting patiently for God's best. Using the tools learned from this book I started asking the questions "what do his relationships with family, friends, and God look like? What do his past relationships look like?" - things I may not have paid much attention to before, but the answers to these questions are vitally important when getting to know someone and determining if their character is in line with my values. The checklists at the end of each chapter were helpful to show me the type of person God intends for me to be in relationship with and to give me a sort of benchmark as to the type of character traits my potential mate should have.
I have shared this book with many of my single women friends, who have in turn shared it with their friends, who have all agreed that it changed their perspective on what they look for while in a dating relationship. I also gave it to my teen-aged daughter to read. I think all teen girls should read this book first before venturing out in the world of dating. It helps give them a firm foundation of what to look for, and what to avoid when considering someone as a potential mate.
