I am an interior decorator who specializes in custom window treatments and I love this book. It ranks #2 as my go-to resource (behind Taunton Home's Window Treatments Idea Book - Sampson & Delucia) for inspiring ideas. While it does not contain the breadth of treatments styles as the Window Treatments Idea Book, the beauty of this book is in the details. The treatments are all unique - using gorgeous color, fabric and trim combinations I probably would never have thought of, but are wonderful. The authors are so creative, and obviously love what they do, it helps inspire me to create equally unique treatments for my clients' homes! Generally people investing in custom window treatments want something you cannot find in ready-made treatments- they want something no-one else has. This book helps me think of ways to achieve a unique look, while staying within a traditional style. Since the book was published, decorating styles have trended toward the more simple and contemporary, and the vast majority of the treatments in this book are traditional, but eventually the pendulum will swing back to the more traditional style, and this book will be at the forefront of fashion once again. And there will always be a large proportion of people who will never follow the trends and continue to decorate in the traditional style. For these clients, I will use this book on a regular basis and it has been well worth the investment for me.

Umm...yikes. Wish I would have flipped through this one before I threw my money down. It's hard to fault Ms. Charton for her enthusiasm and inventiveness, but this book isn't for everyone. I found many of the designs to be gimmicky and over the top. All in all there's nothing in it for me. Maybe for the do-it-yourselfer? Design professionals looking for elegant treatments, look elsewhere.

I recently moved to Little Rock and found myself searching for draperies for my home. Unable to purchase quality window coverings I began searching for the newest and most creative ideas. The book " The Window " offers the most wonderful treatments. It has given me great ideas in fabrics, hardware and even fun ways to decorate my home. This book will definitely
give a kick start to your decorating dreams.

If you are looking for beautiful and innovative ways to dress your windows, this is the book you have to buy. So many other drapery books are so blah. This one is gorgeous, after you glean all of the ideas you can from it, you can place it on your coffee table and share it's beauty with your guests. Not only did I find great ideas in this book, I so enjoyed reading the stories that the author/designer wrote about each of the clients whose homes were featured in the book.

I found this book to be the most inspirational decorating book I've ever bought. It is so full of great ideas and wonderful pictures. I love how directions are put step by step in the book. This is well worth your money.
